choosing...easier said than done sometimes

I updated mom's blog.

Unfortunately, I updated it with a bad attitude.
Now I feel bad. But it was real and I hate fake so I shared.
I guess I don't really feel TOO bad...as long as no one thinks I'm horrible.

After posting, I re-read an email a dear friend sent a few weeks ago. I really miss this friend and had a feeling that an email from her would help. I was right.
She shared an excerpt from a talk by Richard C. Edgley from General Conference last year. I share now:

"Because of the conflicts and challenges we face in today’s world, I wish to suggest a single choice—a choice of peace and protection and a choice that is appropriate for all. That choice is faith. Be aware that faith is not a free gift given without thought, desire, or effort. It does not come as the dew falls from heaven. The Savior said, “Come unto me” (Matthew 11:28) and “Knock, and it shall be [given] you” (Matthew 7:7). These are action verbs—come, knock. They are choices. So I say, choose faith. Choose faith over doubt, choose faith over fear, choose faith over the unknown and the unseen, and choose faith over pessimism."

Thanks friend. You knew weeks ago I would need this reminder.
Maybe we all do to some extent. I know I would much rather laugh than cry...be happy than sad...and be faithful than doubting and scared.

My mom already knows that.
I guess mom's really are always right.
